YT: Down to my toes

Simple things.

Sitting in the warm sun with freshly painted toes.

I stretch my feet forward, then press the soles onto the table in front of me.

The surface is wet still. Max was filling watering cans for the garden.

The water on my feet and the hot sun on my legs.

It reminds me summer will be here in the blink of an eye.

Daily reminder

“Those who desire to remain intoxicated by reality do not require artificial intoxicants. Indulging in false things will only increase falsity, for every direction is indeed infinite. Those who desire the truly genuine thing proceed of themselves with great intensity so as to progress in their sadhana.”

Global sadhana has begun

It’s day 3 of the 40-day global sadhana to release fear and become a conscious leader. This global sadhana challenges the participants with a 31-minute daily meditation (demonstrated above). It’s quite intense. Like many kriyas, it requires the practioner to dig deep and push beyond any mental blockages.

Just. Keep. On.

YT: ‘Tis the full moon

Friday, September 24, 2010

Yesterday was the full moon.

I set my intention on release, clearing and cleansing. I decided to practice yoga and then sage the house. But I realized I had given all of my bundles of sage to Josh’s friend- to burn with his papers before he left for Sweden. Huh.

All I had left was a leaf or two that came with crystals. Max and I enjoyed burning those. Then, we went for a walk.

We were walking down the trail at quite a clip. The gravel trail can rock him to sleep if I go fast enough. I establish my stride in the initial stretch- full of huge, barking dogs in the yards facing it.

Must race past them if he’s going to sleep.

I glanced down at my shoes as we were cruising along.

I saw a sage branch.

I could hardly believe it. I stopped and went back to pick it up and smell it.

Yep! It was sage- about 15 or 20 times what I had just burned. So, I put it in the stroller and smiled and said, Hari, Hari.

Daily reminder

“Sadhana: Trauma or mistreatment by parents or caretakers can be healed or altered through what is known in Sanskrit as sadhana, which means an effort exercised toward achievement of purpose or practice. While the literal translation of sadhana sounds mechanical, it implies a practice of a healing nature. In the tantric tradition, sadhana refers to the path of liberation. Meditating, Reiki, gardening, playing basketball, singing, and yoga are all examples of sadhana that could lead to deep levels of healing with the correct intention- that is, when a person engages in these activities with the purpose of reconnecting to their inherent power.”

Know your sign(s)?

Speaking of astrology… everyone knows the astrological sign for the day they were born, right? I was born on December 7, so I’m a Sagittarius- or more accurately, Sagittarius is my sun sign.

When I was checking my horoscope this morning, it occurred to me that I hadn’t checked the horoscope for my Rising (Ascendant) sign for quite some time. In fact, I couldn’t even remember what it is anymore (gentle wrist slap).

Your natal chart shows the positions of the planets and astrological houses in the sky at the moment of your birth. It gives much more detail than simply reading the horoscope for your sun sign. In order to determine your natal chart, you need to know the exact time of your birth as well as the location.

I learned an interesting thing when I checked my natal chart this morning- Maxim and I are both Aries rising with Pisces as our moon sign! Fun!
