Yoga this week!!

It’s that time again… Sunday. And I bet you are just burning up with curiosity about when on earth I’ll be teaching this week.

Well, wait no longer, my darlings, my dears. Monday. I’ll be teaching my regular class this Monday at 10am.

I am quite certain a lovely time will be had by all. I hope. Ha.

See you tomorrow, mes amis!

Weekly wisdom from Doreen Virtue

Last week’s oracle card reading wrapped up with the suggestion to spend time outdoors over the weekend. I happened to take that advice, packing up the fam and heading out to Joshua Tree. It was a great trip for many reasons (I got to see Sean Johnson and the Wild Lotus Band, CC White, Arjun Baba, and Krishna Das!!!), but one of the things that made it the most special for me was being in the desert landscape. I love going to places where the natural environment is different than the one I see in my day-to-day. It gives me a new perspective on things.

So, I guess I don’t have to tell you that I’m stoked that Doreen is using her ‘Healing with the Fairies’ oracle card deck this week. The fairies are nature angels. They back up Mother Earth and work to keep her balanced. Doreen states in the beginning of her reading that the Healing Fairies deck works well for anyone who has environmental issues on the brain.

I also love that the reading for the weekend brings up detoxing and clearing. We are rapidly coming upon the change of the seasons again. I often like to observe solstices and equinoxes with some type of cleanse or detox- whether it be in my diet, my thoughts, my habits, my schedule. Whatever form it might take, I love to ride the energetic wave of ‘change’ that surges around solstices and equinoxes.

I’ll have more to share about that as we roll up to the autumnal equinox, but I love that it came up already. A great reminder and great motivation.

Do you observe the changing of the seasons in some way? What will you be doing to get ready for fall?

It’s in the stars

The unofficial ‘end of summer’ is behind us now. All of a sudden, we’re 4 days into September even though I barely noticed its beginning amid all of the holiday weekend revelry. My family and I marked the holiday by running in a 5K race at Disneyland on Saturday, which was awesome. It was a great start to a fun weekend.

So, now it’s the fourth and your September horoscope is here. Technically, it was there all along- but I wasn’t. I was partying. With Mickey Mouse.

Now that we have that straigtened out, we can look ahead to what’s in the stars for September. We were graced with the rare occasion of a blue moon last month. According to Susan Miller, the full moon on September 29 will be a memorable one as well- and maybe not for the best reasons.

Check out what she has to say about your September horoscope (via AstrologyZone).

Bonjour, mes amis!!

Well, well, well… what have we here?!

Moments ago, I logged on to the site for the first time in… a long time. In fact, I noticed that my last post was from June 18th- two days before the solstice.

Ahhh, yes! It makes perfect sense now. I sat down to do my ‘work’ on the morning of the 19th, and I no longer had a working display on my computer. Because the fairies, angels, Holy Ones, and heavenly Beings must have thought it would be best for me to disconnect and enjoy my summer ;). Thank God/dess!

Within days of my personal computer breaking, all of the others in my home developed problems as well. I have been completely, blissfully computerless all summer. It’s the best time for it, really.

There are new developments to share- and new inspirations. This time has been a productive one for me to regroup, reevaluate, and decide what is the next step. I will have a lot to share very shortly. Just in time because the computer situation is on the verge of being remedied.

Check back soon for more updates!

Love to all!

Namaste, yoga lovers!

Yoga this week!!

Oh, boy!! We’re back in the swing of things now. According to the schedule, at least.

I will be back to teaching my regular class on Monday this week. I’m thinking the practice will focus on grounding postures and coming (back?) into connection with the body and breath.

There’s no place like hOMe

Home at last!

My month of traveling has come to a close. I must admit… I feel so grateful to be home. My bed. My food. My pets and plants and places for asana and meditation. Adaptability is a wonderful (and necessary) quality, but there’s much to be said about the comforts of home, too.

My lil fam had waited waaaay too long to visit our loved ones far and wide. It had been nearly two years since I had been back to the area where I grew up. And I had never been to the town where my man was born- or even to the part of the country where he was born. My brother and I drove through there at high speeds during our cross-country relocation adventure, but I didn’t remember anything but a roadside rest stop with a view of bison. This time, I had much more time to look around and get a feel for the place.

So, what did I see? Much more than I could ever recap in one little post. I had so many great experiences and so many profound realizations- about people, family, time, space, the way people live their lives and see their world, the ways they give meaning to the things they do.

Faces, places, spaces.

How do we connect? How do we stay connected?

Often, things just don’t seem the same anymore. The faces. The places.

As the time was coming to leave the place where I grew up, I found myself thinking, “I didn’t go to Moundsville. I didn’t go down this road or that one. I don’t know how long it will be until I’ll be this close again. I came so close to updating the road maps in my head, and now I don’t know what’s become of it. It’ll stay frozen in time for me for at least a little while longer.”

The places and the faces.

That was my trip back to my childhood home, but what about my travels to Oklahoma- a place I’d never really been before? Mostly, I was struck by how new and different it seemed to me. There was no road map to update there- it was uncharted territory.

At times, it seemed like a foreign land. The hows, whys, and whens of my daily life- things I may take for granted- kinda took on a light like they were being beamed in from an alien planet (like, “Yes, I’d like a salad with no meat. Really. No, not even bacon bits. I don’t want any meat. I don’t eat it. Ever. Really.”).

Overall, seeing different people, places, and things gave me a new appreciation for my life. How lucky I am. How well my efforts to co-create my own little place in this world have come together. How I live in a field of endless possibilities for discovering my heart’s home.

I look all around here now, and I think, “Uh huh. That’s right. You’re speaking my language. Let’s do this.”

There are, of course, commonalities that tie us all together and make us more alike than we may ever realize. I met interesting new people and found aspects of home everywhere. I came home with excellent, inspiring new books. And rocks. Lots and lots of rocks. I was thoroughly impressed with the selection of rocks in both West Va. and Ok. I couldn’t wait to bring those babies home and welcome into my crystal family.

I’m still so excited (like a little kid in a candy store) that I’ve decided to feature one of them each day for the next week. 7 stones. 7 days. Beginning with a stone associated with the root chakra and working our way up- arriving at the crown on the 20th, the Summer Solstice. I hope you enjoy it as much as I’m enjoying them.

I’m so glad to be back, yoga lovers! Love to all!!

Yoga this week!!

Guess who?!! It’s me! I know, I know. I’ve been M.I.A. for a while now. I made it back from those country roads and turned around and set off for the prairie. It’s been very good to see family and spend some time away from my little comfort zone of hOMe, but let’s be honest… I’m ready to get back.

I hope you will join me on Saturday for my glorious (?) return. Time for some yoga in the sunshine, yoga lovers!!

What’s your sign?

Phew! Is it the fourth already? I think my brain is still on vacation. I’ll be off on another traveling adventure with my best buddies later this week, and my brain decided to take off the days in between, too. Yaaawn! Blame it on the jetlag.

Actually, I know it is the fourth because today is the full moon and a lunar eclipse in Sagittarius. It means big things for Sagittarians, like myself. See what the eclipse means for your sign as well as the rest of your June horoscope on Susan Miller’s Astrology Zone.

In joy!
