“Creative energy breaks us out of habitual patterns of behavior, thoughts, and relationships. Habit is a hell to which people cling in an attempt to stop the flow of change. But creative energy defies the repetition of habit. These two forces, repetition and creativity, are at odds with each other within the human psyche and impel us to invest and reshape the chaos of our world with personal meaning.”

Yoga this week!!

Hello and happy Sunday, yoga lovers!

I’m teaching one group class this week- Monday at 10am. It seems that I’ve become quite reliable for making it rain… all I have to do is schedule an outdoor class! I have a good feeling about Monday, though, so it’s on…

This week’s class will focus on deep stretching and relaxation. Couldn’t we all use a little more of that??

Hope to see you there!

“Genuine, complete healing requires honesty with oneself. An inability to be honest obstructs healing as seriously as the inability to forgive. Honesty and forgiveness retrieve our energy- our spirits- from the energy dimension of ‘the past.'”

Dear Angels and Guides

Dear Angels and Guides:

When I have a choice to make today, please remind me to make the one that feeds my spirit. I figured you could help me out in your miraculous and wonderful ways.

Also, if you could put a word in for me with the Nature Devas, I’d appreciate it. I’m planting my garden this weekend. You know…

Thanks in advance.

All my love,

Holly Richelle

It’s Frey-day!!

By some accounts, Monday is Freyja‘s day (‘moon’ day, as she is associated with the moon). But I’m declaring today her day! She popped into my mind at some point during the night, and in my sleepy haze I thought, “Freyja. Freitag. It’s Friday… right on.” Then, I went back to sleep.

I didn’t forget you, though, girl!! I began the week with Ostara on my mind and in my heart. And here I am wrapping it up with Freyja, which is just fine with me by the way. She’s one of my favorites. Like Ostara, she is a Germanic/Nordic goddess of fertility. Both have ties to springtime.

Oh, and she apparently “rides in a chariot pulled by mighty cats across the rainbow bridge connecting Heaven and Earth” according to Doreen Virtue’s Goddess Guidance oracle deck. You had me at ‘mighty cats.’

Shout out to Freyja! It’s your day, goddess!

“Think love. Live in appreciation and gratitude. Invite change into your life, if only through your attitude. And remind yourself continually of the message of all great spiritual masters worth theur salt: keep your spirit in the present time. In the language of Jesus, ‘Leave the dead and get on with your life.’ And as Buddha taught, ‘There is only now.'”

Ayurvedic spring cleaning

Now that spring is here, you may be considering undertaking some good ol’ spring cleaning. As I’ve said, this is a great time of year to make changes- out with the old and in with the new. Powerful forces are present to support any little seedling intentions that we wish to manifest. Working consciously with them is like a power-boost to our manifestation.

If your spring cleaning includes ditching any old habits or patterns that affect the body, the equinoxes are a great time for an Ayurvedic cleanse.

In Ayurveda, the seasons have a predominant dosha just as human beings do. Spring is a kapha season- with the wetness of spring rains and the heaviness of the saturated earth as comes back to life.

Following an Ayuvedic ‘spring cleaning’ program can help balance kapha in the body. Less kapha means less heaviness and more energy. Less inertia and more action.

Working with Mother Nature in this way is a great way to jumpstart any goals you have concerning your health and wellbeing. I don’t know about you… but I can use all the help I can get ♥

“Human reasoning can never answer the mysteries of our lives. It can never explain the complexity of why things happen as they do. We can achieve a genuine sense of peace about life only by releasing our need to know why things happen in terms of human reasoning and by embracing Divine reasoning: ‘Let me know what I am able to know and trust that behind all events, no matter how painful, there is a reason from which good can come.'”

Hey there, Nature Devas

For many, the Spring Equinox is symbolic of rejuvenation in various forms and facets. The rebirth time in earthly cycles has come again. There are many ways in which a feeling of newness and possibility can manifest at this time of year.

Maybe you are inspired to undertake spring cleaning in your home- allowing the old junk to move out and make room for new things to come in. Maybe the milder weather and the prospect of summer on the horizon motivates you to get out and move around more. There are many ways to plant seeds during this season so that you may enjoy them throughout the year.

If the seeds you will be planting are literal, you have a great opportunity to connect with the Nature Devas. “The word deva comes from the Sanskrit language, meaning ‘a being of brilliant light’ and is used to indicate a non-physical being.” (via Soul-Guidance). They are nature spirits.

Even if you do not have a garden or grow any plants, you can send them a little love for the nourishing food that they help grow for you. You can send thanks when you appreciate the beauty of Mother Nature. They’re her entourage.

Take some time and include the Nature Devas as you celebrate the beginning of spring. They’re working hard this time of year!

Daily reminder

“Above all, be at ease, be as natural and spacious as possible. Slip quietly out of the noose of your habitual anxious self, release all grasping, and relax into your true nature. Think of your ordinary emotional, thought-ridden self as a block of ice or a slab of butter left out in the sun. If you are feeling hard and cold, let this aggression melt away in the sunlight of your meditation. Let peace work on you and enable you to gather your scattered mind into the mindfulness of Calm Abiding, and awaken in you the awareness and insight of Clear Seeing. And you will find all your negativity disarmed, your aggression dissolved, and your confusion evaporating slowly like mist into the vast and stainless sky of your absolute nature.”
