Yoga this week!!

I know it’s the day after Easter, and many of the kiddies will be home from school. Maybe you even have the day off from work?? Doesn’t Monday sound like a great day for yoga outside in the beautiful sun (or clouds… at least it’s supposed to be warm)?

Also, I’m going to give my yoga basics class another go. And guess what?… It’s forecasted to rain. I’m not giving up hope yet, but if we do get rained out again, I’ll reschedule… again. Stay tuned.

Show your love, yoga lovers!

I submitted a photo for Yoga Journal’s Talent Search. Turns out I didn’t upload the one I thought I did… but I’ll just chalk that up to Mercury Retrograde and move on.

Please vote for me here and pass it along if you like! Search for Holly Suter. Voting ends on April 17th.

Thanks for all your support! ♥

Daily reminder

“The transformation that yoga brings makes you more yourself, and opens you up to loving with greater depth. It involves a honing and refining which releases your true essence, as a sculptor brings our the beauty of form in the stone by slowly and carefully chipping away the rest.”

Yoga this week!!

It’s Easter week! Lots to do this week… going to see the bunny, hunting for some eggs, plant some flowers, make some more pysanky. I think I’ll buy a lily! Lots to do, lots to do.

Getting things flowing with yoga is a must on Monday. I’m teaching at 10am!

Hope to see you there!

Yoga this week!!

Hello and happy Sunday, yoga lovers!

I’m teaching one group class this week- Monday at 10am. It seems that I’ve become quite reliable for making it rain… all I have to do is schedule an outdoor class! I have a good feeling about Monday, though, so it’s on…

This week’s class will focus on deep stretching and relaxation. Couldn’t we all use a little more of that??

Hope to see you there!

Yoga this week!!

Hurray! It’s the first week of spring!

I have 2 classes on the schedule this week- my regular class on Monday at 10am and a special ‘Yoga Basics’ class on Saturday at 10am. Both of these classes will be held outdoors, and the monsoons are forecasted to arrive this week… so please check back often for any schedule changes.

Happy spring, everyone!

UPDATE: Class on Monday, March 19 is cancelled with a possible reschedule on Wednesday, March 21. Stay tuned…

Building your home practice

I recently had a student ask me to recommend some yoga DVDs so that she could strengthen her practice- even if she couldn’t make it to a class. I definitely have a few well-worn favorites that I’ve used over and over since my son was born. It was a great way to practice faithfully without having to worry about child care. My son has even taken somewhat of an interest in yoga from watching me on my mat his whole life.

My absolute favorite DVDs Gentle Energy Yoga with Kim McDermott, Vols. 1 &2 blend yoga with energy work and guided meditation. Kim was an instructor at the spa where I worked in Sedona. She recommended these DVDs as being gentle enough for any body (I was pregnant at the time), and I still love them even now. They just leave me feeling great.

Another of my favorites is Detox and Destress with Kundalini Yoga with Maya Fiennes (a preview is above). It is also a challenging and rejuvenating practice, though you remain seated throughout.

Check out these other recommendations as well as further insight as to why yoga DVDs can benefit any yoga practitioner.

Namaste!

Yoga this week!!

Hey there, yoga lovers! Join the party tomorrow morning at 10! Mercury will be going retrograde again on Tuesday, so let’s make the most of the last day of Mercury being direct.

Also, stay tuned for a very special schedule announcement this week. I know you’ll be waiting on the edge of your seat… haha.

Weekly wisdom from Doreen Virtue

/

Oh, help me, Jesus…

She really said ‘angst’ & recommended energy healing work. This is officially the 10th week of 2012. We’re deep into things now. It’s really getting real.

This is actually the deck that I gifted to my mother for Christmas, so let’s see what’s in the cards for us this week. Doreen says it’s one of her favorite decks, so what does it have to tell us??

As Doreen suggests, ‘big changes in the week to come.’ We’re approaching the Spring Equinox. And she’s right on target for so many aspects. Personally, I feeled challenged to step up my game in many areas. To acknowledge that we’re beginning a new cycle.

What does her reading mean to you??
