“The word ‘honey’ isn’t honey. You can study and talk about honey for as long as you like, but you won’t really know it until you taste it. After you have tasted it, the word becomes less important.”

Crystal in the spotlight: Chrysoprase

Day 2 and we’re movin’ on up… to a stone that is associated with the sacral chakra, as well as the heart chakra- chrysoprase. Chrysoprase is an apple-green chalcedony (a type of quartz).

Its name derives from the Greek words “chrysos,” meaning gold/yellow, and “prason,” meaning leek. This name refers to its unique color, which is caused by the presence of nickel. The color can be lighter or darker depending on the amount of nickel present.

Chrysoprase promotes abundance and prosperity at the level of the solar plexus chakra, and it enlivens the sacral chakra by drawing out hidden talents and supporting creativity. It also supports “physical creativity,” enhancing fertility.

It is known for other healing properties within the physical body, like stimulating the liver. Like bloodstone, it is a powerful detoxifier.

Chrysoprase also detoxifies the emotional body and balances the heart chakra. In this aspect, it helps the individual to overcome egotism and judgmentalism- two critical steps in embracing the heart chakra’s lessons about universal love. These beneficial properties at the level of the heart foster greater compassion and forgiveness and grow the ability to express oneself without anger.

Additionally, it aids release of emotions that have been stored since childhood and heals the inner child.

On a spiritual level, it brings universal energy into the body and helps us to see our lives and their events as part of the Divine whole. Realizing the role of Divine will in the details of our lives, we are open to greater trust and security.

Daily reminder

“One may gather great wisdom by cultivating the consciousness that this world and everything in it is only a dream. First of all, do not take your earthly experiences too seriously. The root cause of sorrow is in viewing the passing show with emotional involvement. If you continually think to yourself, ‘I haven’t lived as I ought to have lived,’ you only make yourself miserable. Rather, do your best to be better; and no matter what difficulties come, ever affirm, ‘It is all a dream. It will soon pass.’ Then no trouble can be a great trial to you. No happenings of this earth can in any way torture you.”

“It is unnatural to our Divine design to let our thoughts live for too long in the past; such an imbalance creates time warps that interfere with our ability to live in the present and receive spiritual guidance each day. That guidance will make no sense to us if we focus only on unraveling the mysteries of yesterday. If we live fully in the present moment, the mysteries of yesterday will gradually be unraveled for us.”

“Creative energy breaks us out of habitual patterns of behavior, thoughts, and relationships. Habit is a hell to which people cling in an attempt to stop the flow of change. But creative energy defies the repetition of habit. These two forces, repetition and creativity, are at odds with each other within the human psyche and impel us to invest and reshape the chaos of our world with personal meaning.”

“Genuine, complete healing requires honesty with oneself. An inability to be honest obstructs healing as seriously as the inability to forgive. Honesty and forgiveness retrieve our energy- our spirits- from the energy dimension of ‘the past.'”

Dear Angels and Guides

Dear Angels and Guides:

When I have a choice to make today, please remind me to make the one that feeds my spirit. I figured you could help me out in your miraculous and wonderful ways.

Also, if you could put a word in for me with the Nature Devas, I’d appreciate it. I’m planting my garden this weekend. You know…

Thanks in advance.

All my love,

Holly Richelle

“Choice is born out of opposites, and the duality of the second chakra is forever challenging us to make choices in a world of opposing sides, of positive and negative energy patterns. Every choice we make contributes a subtle current of our energy to our universe, which is responsive to the influence of human consciousness.

Managing the power of choice, with all its creative and spiritual implications, is the essence of human experience. All spiritual teachings are directed toward inspiring us to recognize that the power to make choices is the dynamic that converts our spirits into matter, our words into flesh. Choice is the process of creation itself.”

Love you forever

Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury,pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.

Today marks 60 years since Paramahansa Yogananda entered mahasamadhi. As he said, though he left his body, his spirit shines on so brightly and lights the way for so many.

In the past couple days, I’ve been thinking a lot about honoring loved ones who have passed and how to stay connected to their spirit. Yesterday was the 10 year anniversary of my grandmother’s passing, and she’s been on my mind. She was such an amazing role model in her sweet, loving way. She certainly taught me a great deal of what I know about love and loving. I honor her and stay connected to her by living my life with a loving heart.

I found the prayer above on her memorial card, and I think it expresses so much of who she was and how she lived her life. Such an inspiration. I aspire to live up to it every, single day!

Thank you Yogananda, and thank you Gram for being such bright, shining stars ♥

“We are all meant to learn the same truths and to allow our Divinity to work within and through us; this is a simple task, though hardly an easy one. The settings and people in our lives are different, but the challenges they represent to us are identical, as are the influences that these challenges have upon our bodies and our spirits. The more we are able to learn this truth, the more we can develop symbolic sight- the ability to see through physical illusions and recognize the lesson being offered to us by life’s challenges.”
